This list is quite extensive because there are many unexplored places, hidden in the mysterious laps of this mountainous land. There are temples, religious spots, landscapes, and unspoiled spots within a short travel from each other.

Discovering Himachal in all its shades depends a lot upon your travel itinerary. So you need to be sure to cover each part to make it   worth the efforts, time, and money expensed. It would then be one of a kind, aptly – one of the best indeed.

6. Kangra

This district has a lot in store for someone who adores greenery and natural scenic beauty. It comprises of some amazing places to roam around e.g. Baijnath, Bir, Dehra, Dharamsala, Jaisinghpur, Palampur, Nurpur, Jawalamukhi, Ranital, Pragpur, & Broat.

Must Visits:

• Baijnath – It is a small township in the Dhauladhar range of the Western Himalayas. It is famous temple where Lord Shiva is worshipped as a lingam of light.
• Dharamsala: ‘Dharamsala’ literally means an “inn attached to a temple. It is a hill station famed for its large Tibetan community that follows the teachings of HH Dalai Lama. You can see a lot of captivating places and tourist spots here.
• Popular Spots: Naam Art Gallery, Tsuglagkhang Complex, Tibet Museum, Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), Bhagsunag Fall, Kunal Pathari, Dharamkot, & Peak Art Gallery.

Upper Dharamsalais is more commonly known as McLeod Ganj. It is named after David McLeod the once British Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab. It serves as a haven to the Tibetan community and hub for tourist activity. Lower Dharamsala consists of most of the government offices, schools, the local hospital, and commercial areas. It has also got a few tea gardens. You could enjoy the scenic beauty while traveling through the wondrous landscapes.

7. Hamirpur

Famous for the renowned NIT campus, this city offers much more than just the educational retreat. It encloses within it some great temples and places.

 Must Visit:  Baba Deothsidh Ttemple and old forts of Katoch dynasty at Sujanpur and Nadaun

8. Mandi

Just like all the other Himachal attractions, Mandi has also got some great travel delights and tourists destinations.

Must Visit:

• Rewalsar: As for the Buddhist legends, this lake was created out of a burning pyre by the accomplished master Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche). It is one of the main pilgrimage sites for Buddhists in Himachal Pradesh.
• Prasher: This Lake is famous for the legend of the sage Prashar associated with it. The sage is deemed to have meditated at this place. The deep blue crystalline waters with the hemming of snow capped mountains is, for sure, a visual retreat.
• Kamru Naag: Kamru Naag is the main worshipped diety of the Mandi district. The place has some good options for trekking and site-seeing.

9. Sirmaur

Sirmaur has a string of pleasing visiting sites and places. This isolated and aloof land has got intriguing indigenous culture and fascinating scenic beauty.

Must visits – Paonta Sahib Gurudwara, Dakpathar, Asan Barrage, Duck View Point, Sher Gah Gurudwara

10. Lahaul And Spiti

This is an amazing commingle of the green and the barren. Lahaul tends to be a bit more green and fertile, while Spiti is mostly a stark high-desert.

Must Visit –

• Pin Valley – Beautiful and panoramic valley. Best place to get a glimpse at rare snow leopard in winter.
• Chandra Taal – Origin of Chandra River, a big and beautiful lake 7 km away from Kunzum Pass ideal place for camping in summers.
• Tabo – This charming little village set around a monastery is a place to be at, if you seek peace and enlightenment in your life.
