Dehra – A Beautiful British Legacy

Dehra was once a British town and is 55 km from Dharmashala. It is situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The River Beas separates two towns and among it is Dehra and Gopipur. Dehra rests on the bank of the River Beas. You can enjoy the beauty of sunset reflecting the last rays on the waters of river Beas. Dehra serves as a base for different fishing areas like Pong Dam, Pattan, Kurn and Nadaun. If you want to have an overnight stay there; PWD and Forest rest houses are a good choice. You can also have an opportunity to visit the famous temple of Chintpurni while visiting this place. It possesses the Jwalamukhi Temple, one of the Shaktipithas, which has an overwhelming crowd of devotees pouring in throughout the year.
