It is a very popular Sikh pilgrimage in the beautiful land of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. It is believed that Guru Nanak came to Manikaran along with his five followers. The ‘Twarikh Guru Khalsa’ by Giani Gian Singh describes about the visit of Guru Nanak Dev to this place. The Guru with one of his disciplines, Bhai Mardana, reached Jwalamukhi temple after giving sermons at Kalanaur, Gurdaspur, Dasuya, Triloknath, Palampur and Kangra. The Guru then entered and settled in Mani Karan, after preaching around Mandi, Chamba and Kullu. It was then developed into a Sikh pilgrimage site.
